The 15-year-old son of Vyacheslav Uzelkov has confirmed his father's death.

 

The boxer passed away at the age of 45.

Vyacheslav Uzelkov's son, Robert, has spoken out for the first time about his father's death.

Robert made a public statement on Instagram, where he confirmed the news of his father's passing. In his story, he acknowledged that despite their strained relationship and public conflicts, the news of his father's death deeply affected him. He also expressed his heartfelt condolences.

Vyacheslav Uzelkov passed away today (November 9 – ed. note). No matter what our relationship was like, it still hurts and feels unpleasant, wrote Robert Uzelkov.

The sad news of Vyacheslav Uzelkov's death was announced by the press service of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation on November 9. The cause of death was not specified in the statement. However, it is known that the 45-year-old athlete had been undergoing rehabilitation for a lengthy period following a complex heart surgery he underwent in early April of this year.

"With deep sorrow, we announce that Ukrainian boxing has suffered a great loss – Vyacheslav Uzelkov has passed away. His name will forever remain in the history of sports, and his example of strength, resilience, and dedication to his craft will inspire future generations. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Vyacheslav's family and loved ones. May the Champion's memory be eternal," read the statement from the Ukrainian Boxing Federation.
