Bangladesh Opt to Bat First Against Afghanistan After Winning Toss

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first against Afghanistan in the second ODI in Sharjah. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto made two changes to the side that lost the opening game on Wednesday, with one change being forced due to injury.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who was ruled out of the series due to a finger fracture, has been replaced by debutant Jaker Ali. In the other change, left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed comes in for legspinner Rishad Hossain.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, named the same team that secured a 1-0 lead in the series after their 92-run victory in the first ODI. 

Jaker Ali, making his ODI debut today, has already represented Bangladesh in 19 T20Is and a single Test match. He has a solid record in List A cricket with 93 matches, averaging 35.75, including two centuries and 12 half-centuries.

With Bangladesh needing a win to keep the series alive, this match is a must-win for them after their loss in the first ODI.
