Hatskevich reacted to Dynamo's 0-4 defeat to Ferencváros: the legend shared his thoughts and named the hero for Kyiv.

Former Dynamo head coach Oleksandr Khatskevych analyzed the home defeat of the Kyiv side to Ferencváros (0-4) in the fourth round of the Europa League group stage.

Former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Khatskevych gave an exclusive interview to the "Ukrainian Football" website, where he analyzed the team's 0-4 defeat to Ferencváros in the fourth round of the Europa League group stage.

Khatskevych admitted that he did not expect such a result. 

"My impressions from the game are mixed. I also hoped that Dynamo would earn points, maybe even a win against Ferencváros, but, in my opinion, the match was turned around by the quick red card for Vladyslav Dubinchak."

He emphasized that Dynamo still had chances, even with a man down.

"However, even after Dubinchak's red card, Dynamo quickly adapted in the first half. They used the available space well and created several crucial opportunities. Just a minute apart, both Vladyslav Kabaev and later Vladyslav Vanat hit the woodwork of Ferencváros' goal."

He also singled out the solid performance of goalkeeper Heorhii Bushchan.

"Georgiy Bushchan also played very confidently. And that gave hope that they would hold on after the break and avoid further goals, but..."

Khatskevych analyzed the first two goals conceded by Oleksandr Shovkovskyi's side. He pointed out a lack of coordination between Vladyslav Kabaev and Mykola Shaparenko leading to the first goal.

"Dynamo's biggest problem right now is the central defensive area. But we shouldn't place all the blame on the defenders. Let's break down the first goal: Dynamo were punished for Kabaev's clumsy pass back to Shaparenko."

The second goal, Khatskevych believes, was an unfortunate accident.

"The second goal was just bad luck—an unlucky rebound. And all of this happened within two minutes. Plus, the team was already playing with a man down. That’s a huge psychological blow, and the team just couldn't recover from it."

Khatskevych was asked if this was Dynamo's worst match of the season.

"I’ll repeat myself: the quick red card for Dubinchak changed everything. So, I wouldn't say this was the worst match, but based on the result, absolutely. For me, the second half was catastrophic."

The expert explained why the team found themselves a man down so quickly.

"There are no questions about the players' commitment. But maybe the intense drive for a positive result played a trick on the players. In the episode with Dubinchak’s red card, he could have been more composed. The ball was nearly out of play, but he still went for it."

When asked who stood out in the team, Khatskevych named the goalkeeper as the best performer.

"When the team loses with such a scoreline, it's hard to single out anyone. Bushchan played great, especially in the first half, but in the end, he still conceded four goals."

Dynamo currently sits in 36th place in the Europa League table, without a point. In their next match on November 28, the Kyiv side will host Viktoria Plzeň.
